Chapter two: The sprout
Let’s talk about Mental Health
Mental Health is a global issue that is hugely affecting our society today. It has especially impacted so many of us this past year due to the social impacts of the current pandemic. We are hosting an event to talk about how it is affecting girls globally, to share our stories and to learn about some tools available to support you.
So many people experience anxiety, depression, overwhelmed, loneliness, and burnout, but it may feel at times that we are the only ones. But we are not.
For every event, we as a community choose a global issue we want to focus on, and for our second chapter of the World Changers event series, this is the topic girls chose to discuss.
Our very special guests for this event were author, organizer and entrepreneur, Nadya Okamoto, behavioral specialist, author and speaker, Dr. Marcie Beigel, and from our own community we have Chantly (Kudakwashe Hofisi), a 13-year-old motivational speaker, bullying activist, as well as a girl power activist from Zimbabwe. They shared insights, tools and stories that left us feeling inspired.
Hosted by Laura Peña, Sammie Vance, Sara Surani and Lilly Platt.
Our events is open and free to girls 12+ from all over the world. We also welcome women who would like to support them. This first event will be in English and Spanish.
